Access and updates to Canvas Catalog documentation
Documentation access for catalog and sub-catalog administrators
We have been reorganizing our records here at IU Expand, creating Teams folders (shared via SharePoint) for all IU Expand catalogs and sub-catalogs. Now, in just one location, you can easily access important IU Expand information and all your platform-related documentation.
Documentation in your folder may include past Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Course Proposal Forms, Department Account Information (for listings with an enrollment fee), and a handy IU Expand resource guide that helps to address common questions and issues.
You should already have access to your catalog or sub-catalog folder(s). Please contact us if:
- You think you should have access to a catalog folder and haven’t received a notification.
- Documentation is missing from your folder(s).
- Any of your documentation is incorrect.
New documentation replaces MSAs and SOWs
The IU Expand team has simplified catalog documentation to ease administrative overhead and increase transparency for our catalog owners and administrators.
- As part of this effort, we are migrating away from our original Master Services Agreement (MSA), which, you may recall, was a long Qualtrics form. In its place, we have adapted a four-page Working Guidelines document. The document collects information specific to your catalog instance and clarifies the responsibilities of your office and our office to ensure successful IU Expand catalog operations. Feel free to preview this document.
We plan to collect a new Working Guidelines document for all IU Expand catalogs over the course of the current academic year. Thanks to all the catalog owners who have already submitted their updated document! If you have not heard from us yet, please be patient as we work our way through all catalogs. The Working Guidelines document will be sent via Adobe Sign email to the department sponsor representative for review, needed information, and signature.
Completion of this document will renew your IU Expand catalog instance and support real-time updates for catalog representatives and contacts. - In addition, our office will no longer require Statements of Work (SOWs) for each new course listing in your IU Expand catalog. We now conduct a compliance check before opening enrollment for each new listing. During the check, we capture listing information and file it in our records. This eliminates the need for a separate, duplicative SOW form entry.
We appreciate your continued partnership to extend IU faculty and staff expertise to noncredit audiences globally via the IU Expand platform! Your questions and comments are always welcome at iuexpand@iu.edu.
