Indiana Law Enforcement Academy
Recently, IU faculty lent their expertise and collaborated with the IU Police Academy, the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, and eLearning Design and Services instructional designers to create a set of four new law enforcement training courses (with more on the way). The following courses launched in March 2023:
- ILEA In-Service Training: De-Escalation
- ILEA In-Service Training: Addiction
- ILEA In-Service Training: Disabilities
- ILEA In-Service Training: Mental Health
At the time of print, there have been 2,168 enrollments with 2,005 completions!
This is an exciting milestone for IU Online, as these courses represent our first full suite of offerings in a subject matter, criminal justice. IU Online now offers a BS in Criminal Justice, an MS in Criminal Justice and Public Safety, and noncredit courses for continuing education.
Leonard Bernstein: The Man, His Music, and His Mission
Can you imagine a world without West Side Story?
One of IU Expand's newest course offerings is Leonard Bernstein: the Man, the Music, and the Mission. This is an online, self-paced course available at a special introductory price of $50.
The course offers an exploration into the extraordinary life of one of the world's most impactful and iconic artists. The four modules that make up the course include rarely seen videos and provide expert guidance and insights into the brilliance of Bernstein's music, his monumental achievements, and the challenging issues he confronted throughout his life. The course brings awareness and clarity to his music and accomplishments as a composer, conductor, pianist, and educator. It also focuses on his impact as a humanitarian and social activist.
