New features in IU Expand
Shopping Cart
IU Expand recently introduced a new shopping cart feature that allows users to enroll in several courses at once. As a convenience, students can now pay for multiple fee-for-service courses in a single transaction.
Note: This option is available for individual check-out, not bulk or multiple individual listing enrollments. The Canvas Catalog development team is exploring bulk enrollment for multiple individuals into a single listing. We hope to have an update about this in a future IU Expanse issue!
Customizations for Auto-Generated Messages
Administrators in IU Expand can now customize the verbiage in the platform's auto-generated e-mail response messages.
Auto-response e-mails are sent when the following activity occurs:
- Enrollment: when a user successfully enrolls in a new course
- Listing Completion: when a user completes the requirements of a listing
- Failed Payment: when a user submits a payment that can't be processed
- Certificate: when a user completes the requirements of a listing and earns a certificate
- Waitlist Invite: when a waitlisted student can enroll in a paid course or program
If you are interested in customizing your auto-response e-mails, please reach out to iuexpand@iu.edu.
Note: Any customizations in messaging will apply to your entire catalog of courses and all subcatalogs as well! Individual listing auto-response is not a current feature.
