Promoting Student Success through Adaptable Online Interprofessional Education Experiences

The Team Education Advancing Collaboration in Healthcare (TEACH) is IU's foundational, competency-based, interprofessional education (IPE) curriculum that emphasizes team-based healthcare strategies through interprofessional learning events on nine IU campuses across the state. Adapting educational content to an online environment in this manner can be difficult, and even more burdensome when connecting an interprofessional group of students and faculty across multiple campus locations in the state. Identifying practical approaches that balance competing time demands and remain considerate of faculty schedules and other coursework can be challenging. With an emphasis on achieving the desired learning objectives and competencies, this session will provide useful advice on how to structure large-scale online events in a manner that is flexible and accommodates the learning and scheduling preferences of participating students and faculty.
