How did faculty (and students) adapt to the pedagogical, communication, and emotional challenges of teaching and learning online during the pandemic? What techniques helped people adapt? The February 26 virtual conference, Reimagining Engagement in Teaching and Learning, hosted by the Faculty Academy on Teaching and Learning (FACET), IU's centers for teaching and learning, and the Office of Online Education, explored these issues.
Speakers from multiple universities, all published authors in the Journal of Teaching and Learning with Technology (JoTLT), held four panels that offered a variety of faculty and student perspectives on the transition to online teaching and learning. Panels addressed such issues as flexibility, mental health, positivity, physical proximity, innovation, and institutional support.
If you missed the conference, you can learn more about it on the FACET website.
