IU Online scored high in the 2020 U.S. News & World Report (USNWR) rankings of online education programs. IU's Kelley Direct MBA program was ranked first in the nation. The university was ranked 23rd in the nation for its online bachelor's programs and 18th for its online bachelor's programs for veterans. IU Bloomington ranked 26th among the best online master's in education programs, up from 45th in last year's rankings.
The 2020 rankings, involving a record 1,600 online degree programs, measure whether online degree programs have "academic standards commensurate with quality brick-and-mortar programs, properly adapted toward the unique pedagogy of distance education."
"We are pleased to announce that Indiana University's online programs again occupy top spots in the Best Online Education Program rankings," said John S. Applegate, executive vice president for university academic affairs. "Fundamental to this success has been our dedication to delivering online education as an integral part of IU's academic mission. We are committed to providing an authentic IU experience to all students who want or need an online education."
