Indiana University is growing its online education options with IU Expand, a collaborative effort by the IU Office of Online Education (OOE) and eLearning Design and Services (eDS).
IU Expand hosts a collection of learning modules for noncredit certificate programs and mini-courses in a variety of areas (e.g., general interest, professional development, or vocational training). Many are offered at no cost and provide self-paced learning in such areas as designing effective online courses, teaching and learning with Canvas, topics in public health, and campus-specific student orientation modules.
Current participating IU schools and programs include the School of Education, the School of Optometry, the School of Public Health, the School of Social Work, the IU Police Department, the Jacobs School of Music, the Kinsey Institute, Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, Research Administration, and Research Compliance.
IU Expand invites the university community to create general-interest and professional-development learning modules on topics relevant IU students, faculty, and staff.
OOE hopes that IU Expand will make it easy for departments to create noncredit modules that can be offered online. To learn more, contact Christy Cavanaugh at clcavana@iu.edu.
