IU Expand is a portal for online continuing and professional education coursework offered to the IU community, as well as the general public. Based on the Canvas catalog platform, IU Expand allows prospective learners to browse the catalogs to discover and enroll in continuing education training courses. Many courses are offered at no cost, but some have fees that are payable upon enrollment. Most offerings are self-paced, self-study courses, while a few offer in-person sessions.

1. Obtain your school or department's support
2. Design and develop your offering in Canvas
3. Submit a Course Proposal Form
4. The IU Expand Team will contact you regarding next steps within 24-48 hours
