INDIANA UNIVERSITY

Dear Online Faculty,
As the university adapts to the situation created by COVID-19, we extend our sincerest appreciation to you for your diligent work given the rapid succession of changes and the associated stressors to both your professional and personal lives.

As a reminder, President McRobbie made the following announcements regarding the spring calendar:
  • Spring break will be extended to March 29 for all students and faculty, including those in online courses.
  • Aside from the extended break, the semester calendar remains unchanged.
We hope you can use the extra week of spring break to make necessary adjustments to your syllabi and course designs. Students in online courses have been advised that their coursework will proceed as normal following the break and that they should watch for any updates to their syllabi in Canvas.

Of course, the situation remains fluid, and this message does not pre-empt future communications. Please remain alert for additional announcements from the president and your campus leadership.
  • Resources for teaching during prolonged closures are available to you at Keep Teaching.
  • Up-to-the-minute information about IU’s response to COVID-19 can be found at Protect IU.
Again, thank you for your persistence in the face of this unprecedented crisis. Together, we will see this through.
Sincerely,
Chris J. Foley, EdD
